How Canadian universities can grow their overseas audience
B.C. universities are the biggest overseas education source for students, but the lure of higher education in the United States has made them a magnet for overseas students.
In the United Kingdom, the University of Oxford, the world’s largest public university, has an overseas student population of about 7,500 and has an annual budget of about $4.5 billion.
In Canada, the country’s two largest universities, the McGill Institute of Technology and the University College London, have more than 2,000 students from around the world.
Both universities are well known for their reputation for high quality, international education and the fact that both operate at the centre of international trade.
The University of Toronto has attracted more than 1,500 international students since 2010 and the McGill School of Business has attracted international students from more than 70 countries since 2010.
In China, U of T is the top destination for international students and McGill is home to the largest Canadian business school in the world, the Ryerson Institute.
U of T also has the largest number of international students in Canada and McGill has more than 5,500 students from all over the world in total.
At U ofT, the first class of international graduate students is coming to Canada every year, but it’s not just international students who are attracted to the university.
In 2014, U and McGill both received national honours from the Overseas Schools of Education Awards, which recognizes the excellence of Canada’s international higher education system.
The awards also recognise the contribution of international graduates to the global learning experience and highlight the significant impact international students have on the economy and society.
As a result, U. of T has been awarded three gold stars and McGill was awarded four silver stars.
Canadian students in China can also see international students at U of W in Toronto and the Institute of International Education in the Netherlands.
The U of S also has international students coming from more countries than any other Canadian university, with about 2,400 international students studying in Canada.
The most popular countries of interest for Canadian international students are the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Russia, and India.
Canadian schools are also attracting more international students than ever before, with the University at Buffalo receiving more than 6,400 students from 30 countries and the Ryulong University in Hong Kong, the second-largest university in Hong Kong, receiving about 1,000 international students a year.
The average student at U.B. is 23 years old, with nearly half of the student body studying for a bachelor’s degree, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
More than one-quarter of U.K. students studied in China last year, the highest percentage of any country outside the U, according the Education Statistics Agency.
U.K.-based academic institutions are also doing a lot of recruiting overseas.
In 2015, UB offered to help students from the United Nations, UCT and the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation, the group that includes Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and Australia, find jobs in Canada, according a report by the UB Foundation.
In 2018, UBC and UCT announced a $500 million investment in international education.
The Ryerson University, which was founded in 1872, has attracted about 1.2 million international students to Canada since it opened in 2003, with more than 8,000 from more that 50 countries.
The school is also the biggest employer of international education in Canada with more international student enrolments than any institution in the country, according University of Waterloo.
The university has more international faculty members than any of the other Canadian universities.
